When his father dies and memories drive him back to his childhood, Mart Rebius becomes convinced that he has forgotten something essential about his past. Obsessed by visions and half-memories, he decides to reconstruct his past. He buys his childhood home, hires actors as his family and has them reenact the afternoon of his sixth birthday. Something important happened at that party, he believes. Something that will give him access to a part of his life that has hitherto been inaccessible. Soon enigmatic events follow in rapid succession and Mart starts to doubt his memories. Did he make it all up?
