Joop just turned thirteen. Since the Germans invaded the city, there is a strange atmosphere. Yet it doesn’t feel like war, until on May 14th, the air raid siren goes off. Joop is sent into the city to search for his brother Anton, but then bombs start falling. On his late father’s watch, Joop sees that the city has turned into a sea of fire in only thirteen minutes.
