Mariken Heitman

MARIKEN HEITMAN studied biology and worked as a greenskeeper for several years in organic vegetable farming.

In 2019, she published her widely acclaimed The Aquatic Ape, which was nominated for the Jan Wolkers Prize and the Bronze Owl and shortlisted for the Anton Wachter Prize. Her novel Worm Moon (2021) was awarded the Libris Literature Prize, was sold to Klett-Cotta in Germany and Actes Sud in France and sold 46,000 copies.
