Harmen van Straaten has illustrated more than four hundred books in the Netherlands and abroad and has written more than fifty books for all ages, from picture books for toddlers and readaloud books to novels for 15 year olds and above. He has also worked as an animator for Sesame Street. His work has won several awards, including the Golden Apple and the Sankei Children’s Book Award, and has been translated into German, English, Japanese, Korean, French, Norwegian, Swedish and Danish.
