Eline van Bloois & Thomas Swierts

Eline van Bloois is a microbiologist and writer. She obtained an MSc. in Biomedical Sciences from VU University Amsterdam, where she specialised in the interactions between microbes and humans. Today, she works at ARTIS-Micropia where she focuses on the care of microbes, as well as educating visitors about the wonderful world of microbes.

Thomas Swierts (1989) is a marine biologist and writer. He received his PhD from Leiden University with research on the interaction between sponges and micro-organisms. Currently, he is the head of the museum ARTIS- Micropia, the world’s only microbe museum. He is also the creator of the puzzle book series QuizPuzzles.
