Bilal Al Mashta is a writer, graphic designer and owner of the two vegetarian restaurants HUmmUS. In 2008, he received the El Hizjra Literature Prize and in 2008-2009 and 2010, he won the preliminaries of Write Now! Rotterdam and Write Now! Amsterdam respectively. Coulis is his debut novel.
