Marieke ten Berge is a freelance illustrator and designer. She is fascinated by nature in the Arctic and made a book about it, North, which won the Silver Paintbrush Award and was nominated for the Jan Wolkers Award and the 2021 Most Beautiful Book Cover Award. Previously, she also illustrated Polder, a book full of birds and other animals.
