Hella Rottenberg

Hella Rottenberg is a freelance writer and journalist. She worked as a political and investigative reporter and was a correspondent for de Volkskrant in Prague and Moscow during the collapse of communism. Her publications include books about the smuggling of a Malevich collection and the back office of criminal justice in the Netherlands. She is one of the three founders of the knowledge platform Raam op Rusland (‘Window on Russia’). In 2018, together with Sandra Rottenberg, she wrote The Cigar Factory of Isay Rottenberg, which was shortlisted for the Libris History Prize.
