Gerwin van der Werf (born 1969) is a musicologist, music teacher and regular columnist for Trouw. He is the winner of the Turing National Poetry Contest 2010. His stories and poems have appeared in publications including Lava and Tirade. His first novel Armed Man (2010) won acclaim and was named by NRC Handelsblad as one of the best books of 2010. The novel Wild was published in 2011 and was longlisted for the Libris Literature Prize.
